Mundhum Trail Route ‘Virgin’ Destination of Eastern Mountains and Itinerary
Mundum trail trek is a newly discovered and freshly proposed trekking path in eastern Nepal. Munthum; the holy scripture of Kirant believers also known as Kirant Veda. Mundum is four sequences of the book these all are highly respectable Kiranti civilization. All Kinanti live Nepal and those are believed Mundhun is codified present Salpa Silicho area. This route is an important destination for Kiranti pilgrim and highly regarded for everyone who loves nature and culture as well.
In the tourist area, the state’s investment has increased in the tourist destination, with the newly recognized Mundhum trail route known to the Mid hilly region of Nepal. Alongside this, locals and stakeholders have become very enthusiastic. Held in eastern Nepal district, Bhojpur, Khatang, Solukhumbu, and Sankhuwasabha border region. This year, the Nepal government has announced the Mundhum trail route in the list of 100 to be visited destinations in Nepal.

This new destination has been identified by the Myung-Temke-Salpa Silichung Tourism Promotion Center. In the boundary of Bhojpuri and Khotang is the Temke Hill(3165 m) area through which the trail begins towards Mayur hill (3350m), Silichung Hill (4155m) towards the touristic area of Salpa Phokhari (3750).
Mundum trekking trail is a newly explored trail in eastern Nepal. It is an easy ridge-walk, which passes along several ridges of Temple, Chakhewa, Dhotre Deurali, Maiyung, Satdobate, Raba Dhap, and Salpa Bhanjyang. The trail is suitable for all age-groups and promoted as an all-season trekking destination. Experience the wide ranges of Himalayan views from Mt. Everest to Mt. Kanchenjunga, and long stretches of snow-clad mountains in the north, while passing through the rhododendron and Himalayan bamboo forests.
There are ponds, meadows, rivers, and streams. It is an easy and excellent trek with altitudes ranging from 2000m to 4000m for 8-10 days. Fascinating panoramic Himalayas, landscapes mid-hill views, Kirati – Rai people with their rich culture and lifestyles along with indigenous cuisine are major highlights of the trail. The trail was recently explored by Temke Salpa Silichung Tourism Promotion Center with support from Nepal Tourism Board and TAAN. In addition, Temple Maiyung Rural Municipality, Bhojpur Municipality, and Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality extended assistance during exploration. A team of tourism experts from Concept Nepal cooperated with the exploration program. Mundum trekking trail is a newly explored trail in eastern Nepal. About two weeks is required to complete this trial of approximately 100 Kilometers. The trail consists of Kirat Villages and the place is described by their Oral Scripture “Mundhum” which explains the lifestyle, culture, and traditions of the Kirat people which is the reason why the trail is also named “Mundhum”.

For those who want to experience the Himalayas like Mt. Everest, Kanchanjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, along with other Mountains which are above 8000m can do so walking on the hills without feeling fatigued. 33 Mountains and Terai Region Of Nepal can be Observed from The Mundhum Trail Route.
Large grass ground, wide yak grazing fields along with Shepherds with the top of the hill filled with dozens of species of Rhododendrons, Chestnuts, and different herbs along with observation of dense forest is very exciting and another attraction of this place. Myung’s Duck lake area also includes hide and seek different species of Birds, Red Panda, Wild Bees, and Animals.

Tenzing Narga Sherpa and Edmund Hillary, who took the first step in the Peak of the Everest used the route of one part of the same path in 2010. Due to this road link connected to the mid-road network, ‘Virgin’, and the area which can be easily accessible from Diktel and Bhojpur, the tourists are sure to become more comfortable in the way.
